Mulligan's Hollow Ski Bowl
History
4
Mulligan's Hollow Ski Bowl in Grand Haven, Michigan, has been a community-centered, family-friendly place for skiing and snowboarding since volunteers helped build it in 1960. Set in dunes beside the Tri-Cities YMCA, it has remained an accessible and comparatively inexpensive winter recreation site close to town. In 2009, daily operations shifted from the city to the volunteer-run Ski Bowl Association to reduce budget pressure while keeping the hill active. Volunteer work, donations, and fundraising added rope tows, snowmaking and grooming equipment, a warming hut, first aid, terrain features, and an ice rink. The hill also offers lessons, rentals, and summer community events.
