Hillsboro Peak Lookout Tower and Cabin is a fire lookout station on a prominent summit in the Black Range of southwestern New Mexico, within the Gila National Forest. Standing about 10,020 feet above sea level, it was part of the early twentieth-century network of mountaintop observation posts used to detect wildfires across remote forest country before aerial and electronic monitoring became common. The lookout tower and cabin date from 1925, although the surviving tower appears different from the one present in the 1920s. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, the site is recognized for its role in regional forest protection, and the log cabin has reportedly also served overnight visitors.
