Moran Canyon is a glacially carved canyon in Grand Teton National Park in northwestern Wyoming. In the Teton Range, it lies between Mount Moran to the south and Traverse Peak and Bivouac Peak to the north, with Moran Bay on Jackson Lake at its eastern mouth. The canyon formed as glaciers retreated around 15,000 years ago at the end of the Last Glacial Maximum. Surrounded by prominent peaks and opening toward Jackson Lake, it remains part of the larger glacial landscape that shapes much of the Grand Teton region.
