Salt Lake to Southern California Road - Peteetneet
Transportation
6
On December 18, 1850, John Doyle Lee wrote that a considerable portion of the land between Spanish Fork and Fort Peteetneet was low, marshy, and difficult to cross, especially with heavily loaded wagons. Some wagons required nine yokes of oxen to get them through the sloughs. He also called it a lovely place that seemed likely to become a fine settlement, and gave the distance as seven miles and sixty-nine from the Great Salt City.
