Allegheny Arsenal Explosion

On Sept. 17th 1862, an explosion at the Allegheny Arsenal in Pittsburgh, Penna., killed 78 men, women, boys, and girls. They were remembered as patriots who made the supreme sacrifice for freedom and civil liberty so that the Union of the States might be preserved for those who were to follow.
