Capt. Richard Caldwell of the 25th U.S. Infantry and men from Blooming Grove who fought and died in the War of 1812-1815 are remembered alongside Capt. Isaac Nicoll of Company C, 124th New York Volunteers and men from Blooming Grove who fought in the war for the unity of the Republic from 1861 to 1865, with Plattsburg, Appomattox, Gettysburg, and Petersburg associated with their service.
