Mount Plymouth Memorial Park preserves the memory of the Mount Plymouth Hotel and Country Club, the 1926 Florida Central Academy, the academy's 1959 closure, and the building's destruction by fire on January 6, 1986, and this historical entrance way was preserved by the East Lake Historical Society.
