Merrick State Park
Nature
Merrick State Park is a 322-acre Wisconsin state park on the Mississippi River north of Fountain City, set in a backwater and floodplain landscape along the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. Its significance lies in the way it provides access to river-centered outdoor recreation in this distinctive setting. The park includes three campgrounds with 65 individual campsites, picnic grounds, and a playground. Two boat ramps accommodate both motorized and non-motorized boating as well as fishing, while seasonal hunting and winter activities such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing extend its recreational use throughout the year.
