Olmsted Point is a roadside viewpoint on Tioga Pass Road in Yosemite National Park, opening south into Tenaya Canyon with striking views of Half Dome’s northern face, Clouds Rest, and Tenaya Lake to the east. Its bare granite slopes are scattered with glacial erratics, making the effects of past glaciation especially visible. A short trail from the parking area passes through a small grove of trees to a low granite dome, where the views are particularly clear. Named for landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., it remains a notable high-country stop valued for both scenery and geologic features.
