The Henry Foundation for Botanical Research in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, is a nonprofit botanical garden and research institution spread across 50 acres of steep hills along Rock Creek near the Schuylkill River. Botanist and plant explorer Mary Gibson Henry established it in 1948 to preserve and cultivate plants she had collected in remote parts of the western, midwestern, and southeastern United States. Maintained by the Henry Foundation since 1950, the site is valued for its scenic gardens and trails for walking and horseback riding. Its notable holdings include 15 taxa of native magnolias assembled to broaden genetic diversity in organized botanical collections.
