Mount Shavano is a prominent summit in the southern Sawatch Range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Rising 14,228.3 feet, it is one of the state's fourteeners and stands within San Isabel National Forest in Chaffee County, north by west of Maysville. The mountain's name honors Ute Chief Shavano, linking this notable high peak of North America to the history of the Ute people as well as to Colorado's mountainous landscape.
