The O'Donnell Building had an ambitious facade style for its time and helped popularize the distinctive brick used in its construction. The bricks were made from clay from the Bend Brickyard west of town and fire white sand from the Ice Caves south of Bend. They quickly became a status symbol during the building boom of the decade.
