Patrick Shields, husband of Mary Nantz Shields and father of James and Henry, served in 1811 as an aide to General Wm H Harrison in the Tippecanoe Campaign, was a delegate to the Indiana Constitutional Convention in 1816 and signed the historic document at Corydon's Constitutional Elm, and in 1825 built Georgetown's first water sawmill; he was a respected pioneer citizen, businessman, magistrate, and judge.
