The BYU Museum of Paleontology, on the campus of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, is a natural history museum centered on dinosaur bones and other fossils. Established in 1976 around the collection of James A. Jensen, it long operated as the BYU Earth Science Museum, with much of its material stored beneath LaVell Edwards Stadium instead of widely exhibited. In October 2009, new facilities opened during BYU homecoming week, including a 5,000-square-foot addition that made it possible to display most of the collection. The museum supports research, welcomes the public, and is directed by Rodney Scheetz, one of Jensen's BYU students.
