From June 25, 1950, to May 27, 1953, Breathitt Countians served during the Korean War era, and those who gave their lives in that war were honored for seeking to contain Communism and preserve individual freedom, including Virgil Bach, Ray L Banks, Cecil H Burnett, Harold R. Clark, Richard Fugate, Billy H. Gibbs, Joe Gillum, John F Little, Jr., Edward Lovins, Charlie Neace Jr., Brown Sebastian, Logan Sebastian, Lloyd D Stidham, and Ishmael Watts.
