Bradwell Bay Wilderness is a protected wilderness area in the Florida Panhandle beside Apalachicola National Forest. Established in 1975 under the Eastern Wilderness Act, it covers 24,602 acres of remote, water-shaped land where a "bay" means a land recess partly enclosed by hills rather than coastal water. The area is dominated by titi swamp, standing water, and the Sopchoppy River along its eastern edge. Its habitats include wetlands and pine communities with titi, longleaf pine, loblolly pine, wiregrass, old-growth slash pine, and swamp black gum. Wildlife includes white-tailed deer, black bears, and alligators, and part of the Florida Trail crosses its often swampy terrain.
