Book's Covered Bridge
Science & Tech
Book's Covered Bridge, also known as Kaufman Covered Bridge, is a historic wooden covered bridge near Blain in Jackson Township, Pennsylvania. Built in 1884, it is a 70-foot Burr truss span over Shermans Creek. The bridge reflects Pennsylvania's long tradition of rural covered road bridges, whose timber structures were shielded by siding and roofs to prolong their use. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, it remains an important surviving example of 19th-century bridge construction in Perry County.
