Carey Lake Wildlife Management Area is a 400-acre protected area near Carey, Idaho, established to support migrating and breeding waterfowl and shorebirds. Its first land was acquired in 1949 from the Carey Lake Reservoir Company. The area sits along the edge of a lava field that stretches east toward Craters of the Moon National Monument. Mule deer are the most common large mammals found there, while fishing is the principal recreational activity, especially for largemouth bass and bluegill.
