Lake Malone State Park
Nature
Lake Malone State Park is a 338-acre public recreation area in western Kentucky, about 2 miles west of Dunmor, centered on the 788-acre Lake Malone and stretching into Muhlenberg, Logan, and Todd counties. Known for its wooded lakeshore, sandstone cliffs, and natural rock bridge, it has a more rugged character than many lowland lake parks. The 1.5-mile Laurel Trail winds through hardwood forest with mountain laurel, holly, dogwood, and seasonal wildflowers. Campsites, picnic areas, a swimming area, and boating access support recreation, while the adjacent lake, managed by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, draws visitors especially for boating and fishing.
