The Tracy community dedicated this war memorial to all local men and women who served their country in wartime and in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice. It honors the dead from World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, naming those from Tracy who died in each conflict. It also includes Franklin D. Roosevelt’s words, “Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that men have died to win them.” The memorial was dedicated on May 26, 1991, funded by community donations, and constructed by the Tracy War Memorial Association with support from local civic, veterans, and community organizations.
