Olallie Scenic Area is a protected, glaciated landscape in Oregon’s Cascade Range within Mount Hood National Forest, between Mount Hood and Mount Jefferson. Named from Chinook Jargon for berry, it centers on Olallie Lake and more than 200 smaller lakes amid dense forest, marshes, and meadows along the edge of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses this remote high country. Olallie Lake, the largest waterbody, is stocked with rainbow and brook trout and supports quiet seasonal recreation such as camping, cabins, yurts, rowing, and paddling. Near its west end, the historic Olallie Lake Guard Station preserves part of the area’s Forest Service past.
