Kendall Peak is a Cascade Range mountain in Washington’s Alpine Lakes Wilderness near Snoqualmie Pass, on the boundary of King and Kittitas counties within Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. On the Cascade crest, it divides drainage flowing east through Silver Creek and the Yakima River to the Columbia, and west through Commonwealth Creek to the South Fork Snoqualmie River. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses its west flank, including the exposed Kendall Katwalk, a well-known section that has seen fatal accidents, most recently in 2018. Its rugged landscape reflects the western Cascades’ wet marine climate, heavy snowfall, avalanche danger, and a geologic history of uplift, faulting, volcanism, and repeated glaciation.
