The Summit at Snoqualmie

The Summit at Snoqualmie is a year-round mountain recreation area on Snoqualmie Pass near Seattle that grew from four separate ski hills into one resort: Alpental, Summit West, Summit Central, and Summit East. Together they offer alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, tubing, biking, and scenic rides, while each base retains its own character. Its history reaches to the 1930s, including Seattle’s Municipal Park, Ski Acres with Washington’s first chairlift, Hyak’s later development, and Alpental’s 1967–68 opening. Through decades of consolidation and ownership changes, the resort came to unite several strands of Cascades ski history in one of Washington’s most accessible mountain recreation centers.
