Eagle Landing State Park is a 16-acre Connecticut state park in Haddam on the west bank of the Connecticut River. Its riverfront location makes it a compact recreation area for picnicking, fishing, bird watching, car-top boating, and river excursions from a dock operated by a private concessionaire. The park is also associated with the return of bald eagles to this stretch of river after their numbers in the area had nearly disappeared in the 1950s, adding to its appeal for bird watchers. Connecticut acquired the property in 2003 for $1.3 million, and a proposed land swap in 2012 was abandoned, keeping the park in public ownership.
