St. George Academy in St. George, West Virginia, is a late 19th-century former school building that now operates as a local history museum. Built between 1885 and 1886, the two-story clapboard structure is distinguished by a projecting bay and a square tower with a pyramidal roof, spiked finial, and peaked vents. It served as the community’s academy until a new school was built behind it in 1975–76. After the older building was condemned in 1982, the local historical society preserved it by moving it to its present site in 1985. Its new life as a museum was later honored with listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
