Mount Dungarvan is a 2,575-metre peak in Waterton Lakes National Park in southwestern Alberta, part of the rugged Canadian Rockies skyline near Cloudy Peak. Officially named in 1943 after Dungarvan in Ireland, its name is also associated with a rough and broken mountain, matching its appearance. The mountain is formed from sedimentary rock deposited from the Precambrian to the Jurassic in shallow seas, then thrust eastward over younger Cretaceous layers during the Laramide orogeny. Basalt pinnacles from the Purcell Sill give its summit a jagged profile. In a subarctic climate, its cold, snowy slopes drain into tributaries of the Waterton River.
