James B. Reeve, Adaline Reeve, Fernando, Henry, Orrilla, Orson, Beulah, Rumsey, Susan, Albert, Ellen, Herman, and Emily were among Franklin County's pioneers. On August 5, 1855, the county was organized and its first election was held in a log house 40 ft. west. County business was transacted there until the court house was built in 1857. James B. Reeve served as County Judge and was Capt. of Co. H, 32nd IA.
