Nature
Rincon, on the Southern California coast at the Ventura–Santa Barbara county line, is one of California’s best-known surf breaks and is often called the Queen of the Coast. Famous for long, well-shaped waves, especially a long right-hander in winter, it draws surfers from around the world and remains a focal point of California surf culture, including the Rincon Classic. The point is divided into Indicator, Rivermouth, and the Cove, which can connect in larger swells. Rincon also has a longer history: the Portolá expedition reached a large Native village here in 1769, de Anza camped here in 1775, and the area later became part of Rancho El Rincon.
