Hose Station No. 4, beside Lindsay Park in East Davenport, is a surviving early 20th-century neighborhood fire station and one of only two old fire stations still standing on Davenport’s east side. This compact red brick Italianate building features a tile-covered hipped roof, brick quoins, large apparatus doors, a front dormer, and a rear hose-drying tower. It reflects Davenport’s expansion of organized fire protection beyond its earlier volunteer companies and central firehouses. Saved through preservation efforts in the 1980s, it became the International Fire Museum, housing firefighting artifacts, photographs, and a 1951 Mack pumper, and is recognized for both its architecture and local historical importance.
