Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation is a northeastern Utah recreation area centered on Starvation Reservoir, a high-desert lake in the Uinta Basin northwest of Duchesne. The reservoir is impounded by the 210-foot Starvation Dam, built in 1970 as part of the Central Utah Project, and the park was established in 1972. It offers year-round boating, fishing, camping, cabins, a marina, and beach access. The reservoir is especially known for walleye, including trophy fish, along with bass and trout, and its clear water has made it a regular tournament site. In 2019, the park was renamed to honor Fred Hayes, a former Utah parks leader.
