Maclure Park Bandstand was given to the people of New Harmony by Laura E. and Carl A. Barrett during the observance of the Posey County Bicentennial Celebration and was dedicated on July 4, 1975. It was later restored by Historic New Harmony Inc. The bandstand also bears words by Carl A. Barrett from 1945: “Dreaming of another day… in which you join with me… and see eye to eye… the glory of an early sky… reserved for days to be…”
