Logging was Oregon's first industry and remains one of its most important, evolving from bull-teams to helicopters, from misery whips to chainsaws and tree harvesting machines, and from water-powered circular saws to automatic laser-guided bandsaw mills. The history of logging and the timber industry is kept vibrantly alive at Collier Memorial Logging Museum through the preservation and interpretation of historical logging artifacts, supported by the Collier family's donation of land and the museum's first logging equipment, the museum staff, both professional and volunteer, and the Friends of Collier Logging Museum through their research and continued support.
