The first town meeting in Lee was held on this site in the log house of Peter Wilcox on Dec. 26, 1777. The men elected to office were William Ingersoll as moderator, Prince West as clerk, William Ingersoll, Oliver West, Jesse Bradley, and Amos Porter as selectmen, William Ingersoll as treasurer, Reuben Pixley and James Penoyer as constables, Daniel Church, Job Hamblin, John Nye, and William Ingersoll as highway surveyors, Abijah Tambling and Samuel Stanley as tythingmen, Samuel Stanley as leather sealer, and William Ingersoll, Jesse Bradley, and Oliver West as the committee of correspondence.
