The Court House Fountain stood in Court House Park from 1891 to 1907. It was donated to the historical society by Mr. and Mrs. J. Paul Trapasso and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon W. Harrison in memory of John Hassel (1863-1933) and Clara Young Hassel (1868-1939), grandparents of Paul Trapasso and Helen Harrison. During John Hassel's term as Mercer County Commissioner from 1908 to 1916, the fountain graced his Mercer home and later the family homestead in Jefferson Township.
