In Creedmoor, North Carolina, the Museum of American Pottery is housed at Cedar Creek Gallery and focuses on preserving and presenting American pottery, especially the work of family and studio potters. It grew from the Old Pots exhibition that began there in the early 1970s and expanded into a collection of more than 400 historic and contemporary pieces. Its mission is to celebrate American potters and the everyday ceramic objects that have shaped daily life, while building a permanent public collection and research library. It also supports research, pottery students, and the preservation of representative works for future generations.
