The memorial honors the men and women of Twinsburg who served in the Armed Forces of the United States during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War, and remembers World War II dead including Lt. Herbert Gill, a Navy fighter pilot, who died on Dec. 4, 1943; Sgt. Paul Bennett of the 486 QM REF. Co. M., who died on Dec. 6, 1945; P.F.C. Fred Staedtler, Jr. of Co. M., 145 Inf., 37 Div., who died on Mar. 6, 1945; and Bert Buganski of Co. F. 7 Infantry, who died on Feb. 29, 1944.
