The Beulah Rucker House-School in Gainesville, Georgia, grew from a building erected in 1915 by African-American educator Beulah Rucker Oliver. It first served as a school for Black students until 1920, when support from the Rosenwald Fund enabled expansion with additional buildings. The original house also remained Oliver’s home, where she lived with her husband and four children until her death in 1963. Closely connected to her educational work and family life, the site preserves an important chapter in Gainesville’s history. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 4, 1995, and is now the Beulah Rucker Museum.
