The 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment and its families gave dedicated service and support to Fort Polk, Louisiana, from 1993 to 2005 under the motto “Toujours Pret.” During those years, the regiment served in Haiti from June 1995 to March 1996, in Bosnia from August 1997 to July 1998, and in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 2003 to July 2004, and 21 troopers made the ultimate sacrifice. The regiment’s command sergeants major during this period were Ron Semon, Dan L. Helms, Steven Mohror, Carl E. Christian, John T. Taylor, Thomas J. McGarry, William J. Gainey, Roger P. Blackwood, and John W. Troxell. Its honorary colonel was Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Robert E. Wagner, and its colonels of the regiment from the 67th through the 72nd were Thomas M. Molino, Walter L. Sharp, Dennis E. Hardy, Douglas E. Lute, Terry A. Wolff, and Bradley W. May.
