Martha Springer Botanical Garden is a one-acre botanical garden on the campus of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, opened in 1988 along the Mill Race. Dedicated to biology professor Martha Springer, with Elaine Joines as its first curator, it occupies a long, narrow site behind the athletic building. The garden is organized into 12 smaller sections, including a butterfly garden, herb garden, alpine rock garden, theme borders, and ethnobotany gardens. Emphasizing many species native to Oregon alongside other ornamentals, it also includes benches, a rock fountain, and roses. Serving both students and the public, it is valued as a quiet, tucked-away teaching and public garden.
