The Sawtooth is a jagged arête in Colorado’s Front Range that links Mount Bierstadt toward Mount Blue Sky. Named for three prominent points resembling saw teeth, it creates striking glacial terrain on both sides. Its southeast wall rises above the cirque containing Abyss Lake, while its northwest side drops into another cirque at the head of a valley near Guanella Pass. At the ridge’s northeastern end, it meets the shoulder of Mount Spalding, where a second, slightly less abrupt arête continues toward Mount Blue Sky and divides the Abyss Lake valley from the cirque of Summit Lake.
