Anna Jarvis was born here on 5-1-1864. Through her efforts, President Wilson designated in 1914 the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day. She died 11-24-1948 and was buried in West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala-Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.
