Wasatch Peak is a 13,156-foot summit in northeastern Utah’s High Uintas Wilderness, within Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. One of Utah’s highest mountains, it stands just north of the main Uinta crest and rises steeply, climbing about 2,100 feet in a mile from the valleys beside it. Its west and east slopes drain into the West Fork and East Fork of Blacks Fork. The mountain’s subarctic climate, tundra upper slopes, and wilderness setting give it a remote, exposed character typical of the High Uintas. Although prominent, its name has not been officially adopted, and USGS topographic maps label it as the Wasatch benchmark.
