Burlington honors the men and women who faithfully served their country during world wars and national conflicts, and offers special remembrance for those who gave their lives for freedom. Its World War I honor roll records the City of Burlington's service members of 1917-1918 by name. It also dedicates a Korean War memorial to all U.S. military veterans who served in the fight for freedom against communist forces on the Korean Peninsula, calling Korea "The Forgotten War" and affirming, "You Are Not Forgotten," through K.W.V.A. Chapter 227 of Southeastern Wisconsin.
