Mount Rowe, a 1,680-foot mountain in New Hampshire’s Belknap Range north of Gunstock Mountain, holds an important place in the region’s winter recreation history. Although not especially high, its slopes supported several alpine ski operations and became part of the early development of skiing in the area. Gunstock Mountain Resort’s original single chairlift once ran here, and the mountain also hosted the Belknap Ski Jumps and the later Alpine Ridge, also known as the Mt. Rowe ski area. Today, Mount Rowe remains significant as a small summit whose landscape preserves the traces and memory of New Hampshire ski history.
