Glen Falls is a small waterfall on Ellicott Creek in Williamsville, New York, with a drop of about 30 feet along the Onondaga Escarpment and now forming part of Glen Park’s eastern edge. More importantly, its waterpower influenced the community’s earliest development. The site was ideal for gristmills and sawmills, and early settler Jonas Williams owned two mills facing each other across the creek. Known as Williams Mills, they gave the village of Williamsville its name. Glen Falls is distinct from the city of Glens Falls in eastern New York, which lies more than 200 miles away.
