Grassy Knob Wilderness is a protected area in the Klamath Mountains of southwestern Oregon within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. Designated by the United States Congress in 1984, it covers 17,200 acres managed by the Forest Service. Its terrain rises from near sea level to the summit of Grassy Knob at 2,342 feet, with small streams, short waterfalls, and ravines shaping the landscape. Dry Creek and the Elk River form its boundaries, and the Elk has Wild and Scenic status. The wilderness is known for Port Orford cedar and old-growth Douglas fir, as well as steelhead, salmon, and native cutthroat trout, while limited trails help preserve its solitude.
