Seven Lakes State Park is a 1,434-acre recreation area in southeastern Michigan near Holly, with wooded terrain and 230 acres of water across six named lakes. It emerged from a failed private development that began in 1967, when a dam on Swartz Creek was built to combine seven small lakes into a larger one called Decoup Lake. After the project collapsed, the state purchased the property in 1969, established its current name, and renamed the largest lake Big Seven Lake. Opened to the public in 1977, the park later added a campground and now supports fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, and hunting.
