The 153rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment from Nazareth fought gallantly during the Civil War, and the men's valor, bravery, and sacrifice were honored in a solemn rededication on July 4, 2006, by decree of Nazareth Mayor Earl C. Keller. The War Department had donated the cannon through the Hon. G.A. Schneebeli, Member of Congress for Pennsylvania's 26th District, to the Veterans of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, on May 30, 1906.
