Throughout the 1900's, Windsor was primarily agricultural, with wine grapes, hops, and prunes as the primary crops. Once US Highway 101 was completed in 1962, the town's population began to grow. The Town of Windsor was incorporated on July 1, 1992. The first Windsor Town Council members were Joe Rodota, Julie Adamson, Maureen McDaniel, Allan Rawland, and Barbara Siegler, and Rodota was the first mayor. Construction of the Town Green was completed in 2001, after an idea that had begun many years earlier, as the Town Council created a gathering place for residents that would bring the community together and give it identity. The town logo is an ancient oak tree located in the Esposti Park Oak Preserve, a California Live Oak, Quercus agrifolia.
