"Wind Wolves" are the undulating grasses that resemble running animals. They embrace the spirit of extinct wolves and grizzly bears that dominated this land in the 1800s. The Wildland Conservancy purchased the initial 85,445 acres in 1996 to establish Wind Wolves Preserve.
